NATIONAL UNIVERSITY COMMISSION FRESH GRADUATE RECRUITMENT

The National Universities Commission was set up in 1962 as a counseling organization in the Cabinet Office. However in 1974, it turned into a statutory body and the main Executive Secretary, in the individual of Prof. Jibril Aminu was then designated.

The National Universities Commission (NUC) is a parastatal under the Federal Ministry of Education (FME). The Commission has a Governing Council, its Executive Secretary is Prof. Julius A. Okojie, who expected office on August 3, 2006. 
In its more than 47 years of presence, the Commission has changed from a little office in the cabinet office to an imperative arm of government in the region of improvement and administration of university education in Nigeria. 

The fundamental functions of the Commission are laid out below:
i. Giving endorsement for every single academic programme run in Nigerian universities;
ii. Giving endorsement for the foundation of all higher educational organizations offering degree programs in Nigerian universities;
iii. Guarantee quality assurance of every academic programme offered in Nigerian universities; and
iv. Channel for all outside backing to the Nigerian universities.
